Construction to begin on new water network for Williamstown

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The first sod will be turned tomorrow on a 10 million euro water infrastructure project which will see Williamstown connected to the Lough Mask supply. (Mon 24.4)

Williamstown was placed on a boil water notice in October 2014 following the discovery of cryptosporidium.

The notice was not lifted for 18 months, after extensive works at the area's treatment plant.

Construction on a major networking project, which will connect Ballinlough, Co Mayo and Williamstown to the Lough Mask supply, is due to begin shortly.
