Galway County Council seems to be moving towards purchasing a number of new social homes in South Connemara.
It's after the Department of Housing reviewed and accepted feasibility reports on homes owned by the Tearmann Éanna housing body in Ros a Mhíl and Eanach Mheáin.
These homes were originally built as social homes, but were never completed due to what's described as "extenuating circumstances".
Now, the Department of Housing has confirmed it has accepted recommendations made by Galway County Council as to their future.
Galway West Sinn Fein TD Mairead Farrell says it's not clear what these recommendations are - but it appears some houses will be purchased as social homes.
