Galway County Council is still working to find a solution to repeat flooding at Kylemore Bridge.
The challenge, a meeting of Connemara Councillors was told this week, is finding a solution that makes the road safe while adhering to environmental regulations.
It was also revealed that the local authority has only recently completed a court ordered assessment relating to emergency dredge works carried out several years ago.
An environmental group challenged Galway County Council's decision to authorize the works in 2023, amid concerns around the environmental impact.
It now seems this experience is fresh in the local authority's mind as it works towards a sustainable but effective solution to the road flooding.
Independent Councillor Tom Welby says it's important it's kept on the agenda.
