Galway County Council is to write to the owners of derelict properties at Bridge Street in Dunmore over safety concerns.
It's after a major protest was held in the town last Saturday week - expressing frustration at repeatedly delayed plans to overhaul the delapidated street.
Despite its poor condition, it's heavily used by vehicles and pedestrians alike, though there's scarcely enough space for both.
And there are also concerns about falling roof slates - something the local authority is now going to write to property owners about. .
The issue was discussed extensively at County Hall this week - and local Fine Gael Councillor Ollie Turner says it's important to keep it at the top of the agenda.
