Galway Bay fm newsroom - A city councillor argues there is an urgent need for a bus service for residents living along Upper Ballymoneen Road.

Councillor Donal Lyons says a licence to operate a service has been issued by the NTA.

However, he says a previous service operator has ceased the service as there are no turning facilities on the road, which presents a safety issue for buses having to reverse into estates.

He's asking Galway City Council to engage with landowners to secure land needed to install a bus turning bay so a service can be reintroduced.
