Galway County Council is planning to invest in two brand new mobile libraries.
A meeting of Connemara councillors at County Hall this week heard the current mobile library is in a poor state and at the end of its life.
Right now, it's not even operational as it's back in the garage for repairs to try and squeeze more life from it.
Amid a presentation on a new library strategy for Galway, Management confirmed plans are in plan to purchase two brand new mobile units in the near future.
Fine Gael Councillor Eileen Mannion says library services are absolutely vital.
