Sinn Fein's Mark Lohan says he feels this act is not appropriate given the inequality issues which arose at the university during Dr Browne's ten year term of office
Mayor of Galway Pearce Flannery has responded that since this is a live issue before the courts it is not appropriate to comment on it
Dr Browne is retiring this month and his role will be filled in January by city native Professor Ciaran O hOgartaigh
