Galway Deputy says that delivery of homes are being held up due to delays in Wastewater Infrastructure Projects across Galway

Delays when it comes to wastewater infrastructure is holding up housing delivery across Galway, according to Sinn Féin TD for Galway East, Louis O'Hara.

Raising the issue in the Dail this week, Deputy O'Hara referred to situations in Mountbellew where 60 homes with planning permission cannot progress until the new system is in place there, while long-promised schemes in Craughwell and Clarinbridge are no closer to delivery.

Raising this issue with Minister for Public Expenditure & Infrastructure, Jack Chambers, O'Hara called on the Government to accelerate the delivery of this infrastructure.

Responding to Deputy O'Hara, Minister Jack Chambers said he would request updates on the schemes mentioned, adding that the Government are making efforts to increase the funding to Irish Water and reforming processes to speed up delivery of infrastructure.
