Druid's The Shadow of a Gunman has been selected for the new Leaving Cert subject, Drama, Film and Theatre Studies
It forms part of the world renowned Galway threate company's Druid O’Casey play cycle
Five Galway schools have been selected to be among the first 57 to offer the new Leaving Cert subject of Drama, Film and Theatre Studies this year
They are Galway City Educate Together Secondary School; Galway Community College; Coláiste Mhuirlinne / Merlin College, Coláiste Bhaile Chláir Claregalway and Scoil Phobail, Clifden.
Co-Founder and Artistic Director Garry Hynes says it's a huge honour for Druid to see their work shared with young people across the country.
Teachers and students will be able to access the official archive recording of The Shadow of a Gunman via the Irish Film Institute’s new free streaming media service, the DFTS Channel.
Alongside the recording, Druid has also provided a range of supplementary materials including backstage video interviews with members of the Shadow cast and creative team.
