Dunmore community in shock following workplace death of local man at Kerry roadworks site

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The community in Dunmore is in shock this morning following the workplace death of a local man at a roadworks site in county Kerry.

The incident took place at a site between Tarbet and Ballylongford yesterday afternoon.

The man, named locally as Andrew Flemming, was aged in his 40s, and had a long association with Dunmore Town Soccer Club as well as being known as a loyal Manchester United supporter.

His parents Jim and Maureen, sister Cathy, brother Jamie, daughter Cerys and partner Jessica were being comforted by his many friends and relatives at his family home in Knockatee last evening.

Andrew Flemming is pre-deceased by his brother Keith who died in the road traffic collision some years ago.

Gardai are to carry out a forensic examination of the scene this morning.

The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
