Former President Michael D. Higgins has been bestowed with an honorary doctorate at the ATU campus in Letterfrack
The ceremony also honoured Mary V. Mullin, a highly influential figure in design education and cultural development.
ATU says it's recognising Michael D Higgins' his exceptional contribution to public life, literature, the arts, and human rights over many decades.
Previously, in 2013, Michael D. Higgins was among the first group ever to be awarded an honourary fellowship at GMIT, in recognition of his service to public life.
