The recent Galway County Council's Cathaoirleach's ball raised over 22,000 euros for 2 charities.
Outgoing Cathaoirleach David Collins has presented two cheques of just over €11,000 to Epilepsy Ireland and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
Held at the Raheen Woods Hotel in May, the event brought together members of the local community for an evening of fundraising and entertainment.
Teresa and James Delaney from Lackagh, parents of the late Damian Delaney, also presented a cheque of €5,000 to Epilepsy Ireland for research.
