€1.5m investment in Galway to bring social homes back into use

An investment of just shy of €1.5m has been announced to bring social homes back into use in Galway.

Housing Minister James Browne has announced the 25 percent funding increase for Galway, to help reduce turnaround times from 18 to 12 weeks.

Galway City Council is getting just over €675,000 while the County Council is fairing slightly better with an allocation of just over €765,000.

It's part of a national investment of €40m, which will bring approximately 2,200 homes back into active use.
