€420k to support access for students with intellectual disabilities at NUIG and ATU Galway

From Galway Bay FM newsroom- €420 thousand in funding has been awarded to NUI Galway and ATU Galway to support access for autistic students and students with intellectual disabilities.

€213 thousand has been allocated to NUI Galway, and a further €206 thousand for the Atlantic Technological University, formerly GMIT.

The funding will support campus accessibility, such as improved signage, sensory rooms and quiet zones.

Local senator Aisling Dolan says it's really important funding that will ensure equal access and opportunity.
