The ESB is making steady progress on a multi-million euro upgrade of the electricity network in Connemara.
So far 160 poles and 3,500 copper terminals have been replaced, awhile 380 hazards have been cleared.
The ESB says environmental rules are a particular challenge in Connemara - meaning the work requires extra time and resources compared to other parts of the country.
Galway West Fianna Fail TD John Connolly says it's very important work.
