Escaped Parakeet found flying around city centre

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A beautiful parakeet has been taken into the care of the Galway and Claddagh Swan rescue after he was spotted flying free in the city's West End.

The blue, green and red bird was seen in the Mill Street/Dominic St. area - where he was being tormented by magpies and crows.

This morning, an American couple, Alex & Katey, managed to catch him and keep him safe until the rescue team arrived.

The Galway and Claddagh Swan Rescue group are taking care of the bird until its owner comes forward.
