Independent Councillor Evelyn Parsons has been named the new Cathaoirleach of the Ballinasloe district.
She takes over the role from outgoing chair, Fine Gael Councillor Peter Keavney.
Councillor Parsons was nominated by Fianna Fail Councillor Michael Connolly, and seconded by Councillor Keavney.
Meanwhile, Fine Gael's Alan Harney was named Leas Cathaoirleach.
Councillor Parsons outlines some of her priorities over the coming term.
