Five Galway projects to receive over €700,000 in STEM funding

Five STEM projects in Galway are receiving their share of almost three-quarters-of-a-million euro.

A large proportion of the Galway funding from the Research Ireland Discover Programme is going to projects based at the University of Galway.

That includes a quarter of a million each for an 'Advancing STEM and the Irish language' initiative and Start to Discover, which helps boost interest in science among primary school children.

€60,000 is going toward the University's ReeLIFE SCIENCE Video Competition, which helps expand students' science, digital and creative skills.

Meanwhile, just shy of €60,000 is being awarded to a new nature and environmental programme by the University - The Seed Pop! kit project.

And just over €38,000 is going to Circus Science by the Sea on Tour, which takes science engagement to small rural West Coast communities.
