There's a strong sense of frustration among Loughrea Gort/Kinvara area councillors with Galway County Council.
This week's meeting of the MD was dominated by road concerns, with topics such as potholes and traffic lights taking centre stage.
However, many of these issues are being brought up repeatedly, with seemingly little progress being made.
Several councillors used the meeting to return to long-standing issues, such as an "illegal encampment" in Portumna and the reopening of Dunguaire Castle in Kinvara.
Fine Gael Councillor Moegie Maher referred to the West Bridge traffic lights saga as a 'joke', saying he felt he was wasting his time raising it at this stage.
Meanwhile Fianna Fáil councillor Michael Regan sought an update on facilities at The Long Point - but, to his frustration, to no avail.
Galway County Council staff explained to councillors that it is stretched thin on the ground in terms of staff - with some recruitment ongoing at the moment.
It was also stated that since 2020, there's been a 40 percent increase in the number of projects it's dealing with, adding that the engineering team is at capacity.
