Galway city and county gears up for St Patrick's Day celebrations

Organisers across the city and county are gearing up for St Patrick's Day celebrations tomorrow.

Parades will be held throughout Galway, with the city parade kicking off at 11:30 tomorrow morning and road closures in place from 11AM-2PM.

This year, there will be a new Relaxed Parade Space at Mercy Primary School - a sensory environment which will enable Austistic children, adults and families to enjoy the festivities.

In the county - Athenry's parade will begin at 11:45AM, Clifden at 12:30PM, Gort at 12:45PM, Loughrea at 1PM, festivities begin in Tuam and Ballinasloe at 2PM, and Oranmore starts at 3PM.

Meanwhile Galway's Ministers are busy representing Ireland on the global stage, with the Government's international engagements in full swing.

Galway East Independent TD Sean Canney has been visiting Seoul and Tokyo, and Galway West Independent TD Noel Grealish is in New Zealand.

While Education Minister and Galway West TD Hildegarde Naughton is visiting Chile and Argentina.
