Galway community organisations are being encouraged to participate in a new diaspora research survey.
The project, launched by the Western Development commission (WDC), aims to understand how people stay connected with emigrants from the area.
Insights will be gathered from individuals, groups and organisations that help keep links between ex-pats and their homeplace alive.
Anyone interested in taking part can complete the survey at www.westerndevelopment.ie before the 22nd of December.
WDC Policy Analyst Aisling Moroney says that the research will strengthen the ties between diaspora and their homeplace.
