Galway Councils failed to claim funding for bus stops

There was almost no money drawn down in Galway over the past two year for enhancing bus stops and bus shelters.

That's according to figures supplied to Galway West TD John Connolly by the National Transport Authority.

Out of an available €1m in 2024 and 2025, Galway County Council drew down €134 thousand - while Galway City Council claimed nothing at all.

Fianna Fail Deputy Connolly told Galway Talks the big question is why.
