Galway East TDs put differences aside to support proposed greenway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway East Fine Gael Junior Minister is joining forces with his Fianna Fail constituency colleague - putting political differences aside - to make a joint submission on the Western Rail Corridor.

Minister Ciaran Cannon of Fine Gael and Deputy Anne Rabbitte of Fianna Fáil believe the development of a greenway along the section of the corridor from Athenry to Milltown would benefit the area's economy.

It follows the launch of the government's review on the possible extension of the Western Rail Corridor.

It will examine the viability and cost of the project.
