Galway Bay fm newsroom - The waiting list for driving tests has almost doubled in the past two months - and Galway motorists are facing the longest waiting times.
Over 76-thousand people are now waiting to be assessed, with the longest wait now at 7 months in parts of Galway and Tipperary.
According to the Sunday Business Post, that's more than double the national average of three and a half months.
It's also over fours month longer than the target.
Conor Faughnan from the AA says the test is fundamental to road safety and the situation is deeply unsatisfactory.
