Galway homeowners spend almost 50 million on home upgrades

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Almost 50 million euro has been spent by Galway homeowners on home upgrades over the past 3 years.

The Home Renovation Incentive was introduced in October 2013 and provides tax relief for renovations.

According to figures from the Irish times, Galway City saw a spend of over 20 million euro on 805 homes. The average spend on upgrading a home in Galway city was €25,000.

In County Galway, almost 27 million euro was spent across 1,448 homes, with an average of €18,000 being spent on each home.

Nationally home owners have spent 1.3 billion euro on home upgrades and renovations in the last 3 years.

The Home Renovation Incentive is set to remain in operation until December 2018
