Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway Lifeboat rescued two people who became trapped on Hare Island last evening.
The man and woman had walked out to the island from Ballyloughane beach yesterday afternoon, but the tide came in and they were stranded.
The coastguard sent Galway Lifeboat to the scene and the pair was safely brought back to shore.
