Galway Simon warns official figures 'hide' true scale of homelessness in the West

Galway Simon Community says official figures from Government are 'hiding' the true scale of homelessness in the West.

The latest data shows 640 people are in emergency accommodation across Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

However, CEO at Galway Simon Carol Baumann says there are hundreds more people experiencing 'hidden homelessness' - including those sleeping rough, facing eviction and couch surfing.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Carol says the Government figures don't paint a true picture of how many people are struggling now:
