Galway TD questions HSE over lack of therapists for children with special needs

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway TD says a lack of therapists for children with special needs is a major failure of the HSE and Government.

Deputy Sean Canney is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Disability Matters, which recently held a hearing with campaigners.

They included parents who relayed their experiences in trying to access services.

The committee also heard that a recent survey by Down Syndrome Ireland showed that 60% of respondents received no speech and language therapy sessions last year.
