Junior Transport Minister and Galway East TD Seán Canney says he wants to see children and their parents get out of the habit of car dependency.
Sean Canney is welcoming the news that 105 more schools have been added to the Safe Routes to School programme
In Galway they include the Claddagh Primary School, Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh Knocknacarra, Scoil Shéamais Naofa Bearna and Tuam Educate Together National School
Since 2021, the scheme has provided 50 million euro for infrastructure projects with 526 schools benefiting from new safety measures in their vicinity
