Galway to mark Irish Astronomy Week with series of events

Galway will mark Irish Astronomy Week this month with a series of public events in every part of the county.

It's a week billed as being not just about looking through telescopes - but celebrating local talent and environmental conservation, as well as planetary science.

Events are being hosted by public libraries in Galway City, Clifden, Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Gort and Oranmore.

There's also planet and moon watch sessions planned for Salthill Prom.
