Galway is one of several counties under both a Status Yellow wind and rain warning for most of the day.
The entire country is under the Wind Warning until 6 o clock this evening, while the rain warning is in effect for 21 counties until 3 o'clock.
Along with Galway, heavy rain will impact much of the midlands, the northwest coast, along with several counties in the east.
Met Eireann says strong and gusty southwesterly winds could cause difficult travelling conditions, with displaced debris and fallen trees or branches.

Some lying snow is possible across higher ground, and there could be wintry showers of sleet or snow tomorrow.
