Galway's COVID-19 incidence rate now fourth highest nationwide

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway's 14 day incidence rate of COVID-19 is now the fourth highest in the country.

The rate of infection per 100 thousand in population is now 342.9.

Monaghan has the highest rate at 461, followed by Offaly at 377.1 and Dublin with 361.9.

The national average rate is 269.3.

It comes as Galway has reported the second highest number of new cases of the virus for a number of consecutive days, with 77 recorded for the city and county last evening and 885 over the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, NPHET says daily cases numbers nationwide could fall to 200 by the 1st of March.

It comes as a further 744 new cases and 33 deaths were reported yesterday.
