Galway's Living Bog project receives biodiversity funding

Galway's Living Bog project is receiving more than 50 thousand euro in funding.

Nationally, €1.1m is being allocated to 53 community projects under the Peatlands and Natura Community Engagement Scheme

The initiative aims to encourage community-led and volunteer groups to conserve and restore the likes of peatland habitats and other special areas of conservation.

Burrenbeo Conservation Volunteers, Kinvara is getting support for the endangered Marsh Fritillary butterfly habitat; Galway Telework Co-Operative, Castlegar for delivering school tours and Green Sod Ireland, Galway for ecological survey.
