The University of Galway's new School of Medicine building will receive Government funding backing.
The investment announecd by the Higher Education Minister is part of a €75m capital programme through the Healthcare Education Activation Programme.
The funding will support the new building, along with a new Masters in Pharmacy programme and a new Rural and Connected Health Graduate Entry Medicine degree.
The facility will offer state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research, along with study spaces, advanced research laboratories and administration offices.
The aim is for enabling works to begin by the end of this year, with expectations it will be completed by 2029.
