Government Ministers have given their strong backing to a new €10m sports complex planned at Mincloon.
That's according to Salthill Knocknacarra GAA, which lodged a planning application in recent weeks.
Since then, it's met with Ministers Hildegarde Naughton, Dara Calleary and Noel Grealish to impress on them the importance of the project and the urgent need for Government funding.
The Mincloon project will deliver three new floodlit pitches to address a growing capacity problem for juvenile teams across football, hurling, ladies football and camogie.
David Nevin has been speaking to Chair of the Salthill-Knocknacarra Development Committee, David Burke.
