The green light has been given for the redevelopment of the Old Galway Corporation Waterworks building on Dyke Road into a water sports activity centre

€1.2 million in funding is being provided by Fáilte Ireland under the second Platform for Growth Scheme, which aims to increase participation in watersports.

The development will provide a permanent watersports amenity, with all-weather sustainable and accessible changing facilities and storage space.

Construction is expected to begin next year.
