The new Cathaoirleach of County Galway is Tuam area Fine Gael councillor Andrew Reddington.

The Headford-based councillor was elected at County Hall today, and it will be his first time in the top position.

He was proposed by two party colleagues - Loughrea Councillor Jimmy McClearn and seconded by Athenry/Oranmore councillor James Charity
