Prior bacteria warning issued for Ballyloughane and Grattan road beaches

A Prior Warning Notice has been issued for increase levels of bacteria in the water at Ballyloughane & Grattan Road Beaches.

The City Council says it's due to forecasted increased rainfall and possible activation of storm overflow.

Beach users are advised to avoid swallowing or splashing water, to wash hands before handling food, and avoid swimming with an open cut, if you are pregnant or have a weakened immune system.

The high bacteria warning is expected to last from tomorrow (Saturday) until next Wednesday 25th June, with sample results expected the day before.
