Over 350 people are currently on waiting lists to receive home help in Galway - a figure a local TD is describing as "alarming".
Sinn Fein Roscommon/Galway TD Claire Kerrane says there has to be an urgent ramping up of resources.
The figures from the HSE can be broken down into two elements.
109 people in Galway are waiting for a new home help service, while 248 are getting some home help but are waiting for additional hours.

Sinn Fein Deputy Kerrane says it makes sense to invest in home help and there's no justification for the size of the waiting list.
