HSE reveals €63m 2026 building plan for Galway

The HSE has revealed details for €63m of spending in Galway under its 2026 Building and Equipment Capital Plan.

The largest single allocation is €21m towards the ongoing construction of a surgical hub at Merlin Park.

There's also €14m for works to replace of the 60-bed Community Nursing Unit at the Merlin Park campus.

Another big allocation is €5.6m for the purchase and fit out of a block at Galway West Business Park in Knocknacarra to be used as a Primary Care Centre.

There's also €5m towards a new 40 bed Community Nursing Unit at St Anne's CNU in Clifden and €2m for an expansion of the Emergency Department at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
