The HSE has confirmed it will "monitor" changes made to speech and language therapy services for children in the Lettermore/Lettermullen area.
The service was transferred from Leitir Móir health centre to an Tulach Health Centre late last year.
Senator Sean Kyne says it's created more strain and hardship for families, who are facing an additional 34km round-trip.
He says following a meeting with all stakeholders, the HSE has apologised for a lack of communication, and will "monitor" the situation.
