The HSE is urging the public to consider all care options this bank holiday weekend as hospitals will be under increased pressure.
It says long weekends, combined with extended good weather, usually bring additional pressure on the health system.
This is usually reflected in attendances at Emergency Departments, but also includes increased ambulance call outs.
Ann Cosgrove of UHG says they're asking the public to chose the right care, at the right time.
