An information meeting will take place in Galway city later today for owners of apartments and homes in multi-unit developments.
The meeting in the Clayton Hotel at 7 this evening is being hosted by the Housing Agency and its aim is to help owners to take a full and active role in their OMCs - owners’ management companies.
OMCs are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the common areas of the housing estate, for example lifts, corridors, hallways, stairs, gardens and car parks.
They're also responsible for building insurance, security, cleaning and waste management.
Challenges they face include service charge collection and dispute resolution and the meeting will look at supports available to them.
