The Labour Party will tonight host a special event in Galway city to honour Michael D. and Sabina Higgins.
The aim of the event is to recognise the former President and Labour TD along with the former First Lady for their outstanding public service and lifelong commitment to equality, culture and human rights.
Leader Ivana Bacik will attend along with members of the Parliamentary Labour Party, party members and invited guests.
The event takes place at the Hardiman Hotel in Eyre Square at 7.30pm.
