A local MEP says an important milestone has been reached for fairer airline rules to be introduced in the EU.
MEP Nina Carberry, a member of the parliament's Transport Committee, has voted to approve new regulations to protect passengers.
She says final negotiations will soon begin with EU countries to agree on a final text before the new rules can be introduced.
