Local TD brands possible lowering of inheritance tax threshold as "unfair"

GBFM News - Local TD Ciaran Cannon is branding the possibility of lowering the threshold of inheritance tax as "unfair".

Under current rules, a child can inherit 335-thousand euro from their parents before having to pay tax at 33 per cent.

The Commission on Taxation has recently recommended the Government substantially reduce that figure.

Deputy Cannon is strongly against the recommendation.
