Local TD Louis O'Hara has slammed the company behind the Monivea-Abbeyknockmoy solar project over what he says is a failure to honour its public consultation commitment.
He has been reacting to indications from Power Capital Renewable Energy that they won't be holding a second in-person public consultation with the community.
The Belville Solar Farm would be spread across a number of sites in townlands to the north and west of Monivea, covering around 1,000 acres.
Concerns in the community relate to the scale of the project, its proximity to local residences and the safety of the battery storage unit.
Sinn Féin Deputy O'Hara says the company made the commitment to host a second event following a similar one last July
