Work on a major social housing project in Ballinasloe is set to be completed in September of next year.
The project involves the transformation of derelict buildings on Dunlo hill into 16 new homes and a community centre.
12 of the homes will be single bed units and the remaining 4 will be two bed units.
Contracts were signed with Custy Construction LTD and OBFA Architects in April of this year with an original completion date of July 2026 set.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Peter Keaveney says that the development will bring new life to the town.
