Major rise in seizures of illegal fishing equipment in Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There's been an increase of 164 percent in the seizure of illegal fishing equipment in Galway.

Last year, Inland Fisheries Ireland seized 612 pieces of illegal fishing equipment and illegally caught fish in the Western River Basin District.

Items seized include sea nets of up to 100 metres in length along with over 300 oysters.
