A man in his 50s has been arrested in relation to an assault last evening in Ballybane.
Another man in his 50s was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí responded to the incident that occurred at approximately 7:50 last evening in the Ballybane area of the city.
The man arrested remains in detention in a Garda Station in Galway County and investigations are ongoing.
