A man in his 40s has been arrested in relation to an assault last evening in Ballybane.
Another man in his 40s was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí responded to the incident that occurred at approximately 7:50 last evening in the Ballybane area of the city.
The arrested man has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
